Martha says: "The title Obscure came to my mind when I had finished the drawing. I had been exploring the way objects can be distorted by glass and water. I am interested in the sense of mystery created by the strong contrasts in tone. I also like that three versions of me can be seen in the image, it makes it a little more surreal.".
