Two figures recline on an unmade bed under a skylight with a red sky. One is dressed all in black and looks at the viewer. The second is wearing a floral dress and gazes off the left. At the foot of the bed is a small rabbit.

Minerva, 2025

Oil on canvas | Unframed: 45 x 60 cm

Jill says: "The portrait references Manet’s Olympia and Titian’s Venus of Urbino. Both artworks reflect their societies’ views of women at the time. My intention with this piece is to represent the modern woman. It is titled Minerva, after the Roman goddess of wisdom, as a contrast to Venus, who symbolizes fertility and desire.".
