Lords of Strut launch National Gallery’s Thursday Lates

On 21 June 2018 the National Gallery of Ireland's first Thursday Lates event was launched by comedy contortion duo Lords of Strut.

The programme for the summer solstice celebration included food, drinks and lawn games in the forecourt of the Gallery’s Merrion Square entrance, as well as a special outdoor performance by Lords of Strut, and live demonstrations by members of the Dublin Circus Project throughout the evening. DJ Dermot Kelly played tunes in the Courtyard where nail artists from Tropical Popical created customised nail art inspired by the current exhibition Circus250: Art of the Show

Thursday Lates will continue with themed events on select Thursdays, featuring a selection of live music and entertainment, food and drink, DIY crafting, film screenings, guided tours and other special offerings. Details will be posted in advance on the Gallery’s website and social media. The galleries and Wintergarden Café will remain open to the public as usual, until 8.30pm, during these events.
