Weekend Painting Course: The Primordial Chaos of Modernism

Join us for an immersive two-day weekend painting course.

Join us for a weekend course exploring Modernism through drawing, painting and printmaking, taking inspiration from the ideas, imagery and artistic approaches found in the exhibition Hilma af Klint: Artist and Visionary.

Taking place over two full days, Saturday and Sunday, in the Education Studio, the course will be led by guest artist Stephen Dunne. Through demonstrations, talks and practical exercises, Stephen will introduce participants to the theory of Modernism—not simply as an art movement, but as a practical and experimental approach to making art.

Drawing on themes and ideas from the Hilma af Klint exhibition, participants will explore different ways of working across drawing, painting and printmaking, using Modernist approaches as a starting point for experimentation and their own creative practice.
