Getting here

Located in the city centre, in the heart of Georgian Dublin, the Gallery is easily accessible on foot and by public transport.

There are two entrances to the National Gallery of Ireland:

Millennium Wing Entrance: located on Clare Street
Merrion Square Entrance: Merrion Square West

On foot: The Gallery is less than ten minutes on foot from St Stephen’s Green, Grafton Street and Trinity College.

By DART Commuter Rail: Pearse DART Station is five minutes from the Gallery. 

By LUAS light rail: If travelling via the LUAS Green Line, alight at St. Stephen’s Green. The Gallery is a short walk from here. If travelling via the Red Line, alight at Abbey Street, which is about 20 minutes from the Gallery.

By bus: Dublin Bus provides service to nearby bus stops. Bus routes serving the Gallery include the following: Nos 4, 7, 8 to Merrion Square North & Clare Street; No 39a to Merrion Row; No 46a to Dawson Street & Nassau Street. 

By dublinbikes: Dublinbikes is a public bicycle rental scheme which has operated in the city of Dublin since 2009. There are two Dublinbikes stations beside the Gallery, located at Clare Street and at Merrion Square West. 

By car: There is metered parking on Merrion Square. There are disabled parking spaces located outside the Merrion Square entrance to the Gallery.
