'Balance - equipoise between contrasting,
opposing or interacting elements,
mental and emotional steadiness,
fate or outcome about to be determined,
all things considered.

Drawn equally to differences and similarities.
Historical, sacred, significant, Monday.
A found object, an experiment.
The Kitchen Blind,
The National Gallery.

Re-using materials, ideas, traditions and poses.
The new elements and variations
fit into the world that now belongs to them.
‘Molly and Ruby’ portrays an everyday occurrence:
Seeing two people in love.'

Cara Dunne is an artist, designer, writer, and musician with the band Mongoose. She seeks to tie her generation’s experiences to those of the old masters and mistresses of the arts. With a degree in Fine Art Painting and History of Art at The National College of Art and Design since 2016, she has been selected for the annual exhibitions of The RHA (2016-18) and RUA (2018) and awarded placement in Life Drawing and Oil Painting Courses on the RHA School Access Programme. Her style is influenced by an observing, reflective nature.
