GUM Collective

Artists-in-Residence \ GUM Collective

1 - 30 April 2018
Millennium Wing Studio

For the month of April, GUM Collective, a group of Dublin-based visual artists, were artists-in-residence in the Gallery, investigating the life and work of Emil Nolde through their individual art practices. As part of their residency, they held various open studio events and talks. The project culminated in a display of the work that they produced in response to Emil Nolde: Colour is Life.

Originating from printmaking, GUM's members and skill set evolved beyond print into sculpture, assemblage, video, performance, animation and paint. However, their community ethos and practice sensibilities remain connected to the process of printmaking.

GUM artists \ Aaron Smyth \ Alex de Roeck \ Aimee Gallagher \ Ciara O'Brien \ Ciaran Gallen \ Sadbh O'Brien \ Sofya Mikhaylova \ Stephen Lau.
