Becky with her Bee Hives, 2025

Photograph on Hahnemühle Photo Rag | Unframed: 63.5 x 90 cm

‘Rebecca Newenham supplies to local shops honey made by the native Irish black bees that she breeds on her family farm. I first met Rebecca in 2024 at her workshop and was struck by the wonderful warm light that the hives gave to her workspace. I wanted to picture her working with those hives and capture the translucent properties of the Beeswax foundation frames. For almost a year I thought about asking Rebecca to sit for me, but finally in late April 2025 I returned to make her portrait.’ - David Creedon.
