As part of Dublin Gallery Weekend 2025, Talk Art will host a live podcast with artist Isabel Nolan here at the National Gallery of Ireland.
Actor Russell Tovey and gallerist Robert Diament host Talk Art, a podcast dedicated to the world of art featuring exclusive interviews with leading artists, curators and gallerists, and even occasionally their talented friends from other industries like acting, music and journalism. Their informal and jargon-free approach proves that art really is for everyone. Previous guests include a fascinating range of creative people from Grayson Perry to Elton John, Tracey Emin to Paul Smith, and from Wolfgang Tillmans to Sonia Boyce.
This Dublin Gallery Weekend they will be joined by artist Isabel Nolan, Ireland's representative for the 2026 Venice Biennale, whose exhibition Look at the Harlequins! is showing at the Kerlin Gallery from October 11 - November 22 2025.
Isabel Nolan’s expansive practice incorporates sculptures, paintings, textile works, photographs, writing and works on paper, taking in cosmological phenomena, religious reliquaries, Greco-Roman sculptures and literary/historical figures, examining the behaviour of humans and animals alike. Driven by “the calamity, the weirdness, horror, brevity and wonder of existing alongside billions of other preoccupied humans”, her works give generous form to fundamental questions about the ways the chaos of the world is made beautiful or given meaning through human
activity.
Through their popular podcast, Tovey and Diament open the doors to the contemporary art world, with Talk Art establishing itself as the must-listen cultural podcast, garnering more than 1.8 million downloads since its launch in 2018. The pair have also published two books to accompany the podcast. Talk Art, a Sunday Times bestseller, “is a beautiful and accessible celebration of contemporary art, and a guidebook to navigating and engaging with the art world”, while Talk Art: The Interviews gathers 24 of the most profound, interesting, moving, funny and informative moments from the podcast.
