“No Words” Cultural Art Psychotherapy Group Sessions

"No Words” is the Gallery’s ongoing, long-running, museum-based art psychotherapy programme, activating the Gallery as a space for healing, therapeutic growth and community building. Led by the Gallery’s Art Psychotherapist in residence, Andrea Plunkett, the programme works with at-risk and vulnerable communities, include domestic violence support services that offer both refuge and outreach support to families impacted by domestic violence; voluntary groups and NGOs who support a range of communities, including displaced people seeking international protection in Ireland, the families of people in addiction, and isolated people participating through social prescription initiatives; LGBTQIA+ support organisations; and statutory agencies, such as Tusla, supporting separated children seeking international protection. During Art, Migration and the Politics of Belonging, “No Words” sessions will take place in the Arbitrary Nations installation, using Asbestos’ imaginative work both as backdrop and inspiration.
