Join us for a special talk about the importance of the artist's studio, with Jess Fahy.

Inspired by the theme of our current exhibition, Picasso: From the Studio, this talk will explore the importance of the studio to artists throughout history with a particular focus on Irish artists. Having a space to create is vital and so often this can dictate aspects the work produced by an artist, especially when it comes to size, both literally and in terms of output. Various types of privilege come into play in this regard with opportunities being dictated by class, wealth, gender, race and other societal judgements.

The exhibition is organised by the National Gallery of Ireland in collaboration with the Musée national Picasso-Paris.
