Ciara Ní É

Is scríbhneoir agus taibheoir dátheangach í Ciara Ní É a scríobhann filíocht, drámaí agus scannáin. Tá a cleachtas fréamhaithe i gcultúr comhaimseartha na hÉireann agus fiosraíonn sí teanga, féiniúlacht agus an taithí aiteach ina saothar ildisciplíneach.

Duine de 100 Women Changing Ireland an Irish Examiner in 2022, bhí sí mar Ealaíontóir Cónaithe in UCD, ag Dublin Fringe Festival, in DCU agus in An Taibhdhearc. Is bunaitheoir REIC í agus comhbhunaitheoir AerachAiteachGaelach, dhá ghrúpa atá lárnach i saol comhaimseartha ealaíon na Gaeilge.

Tá a cuid filíochta foilsithe go forleathan in irisí agus i ndíolaimí agus léite aici go hidirnáisiúnta. Fuair a céad ghearrscannán Claonadh, a chéadléiriú ag Féile Scannán na Gaillimhe 2025, agus bhuaigh dhá ghradam ó shin.

Ciorcal Comhrá is an opportunity to explore and discuss through the medium of Irish in an open and welcoming setting. For this event, Caomhán Mac Con Iomaire will be joined by poet and playwright Ciara Ní É in a conversation that will stimulate work from the exhibition William Blake: The Age of Romantic Fantasy.

Together, they will reflect on selected images from the site, using Irish as a shared space for discussion, interpretation and creative response.

About Ciara Ní É

Ciara Ní É is a bilingual Irish-language writer and performer working across poetry, theatre and screen. Her work is rooted in contemporary Irish culture, with a particular focus on language, identity and queer experience.

Named one of theIrish Examiner’s100 Women Changing Ireland in 2022, she has been Artist in Residence at UCD, Dublin Fringe Festival and DCU. She is the founder of the multilingual spoken word platform REIC and co-founder of the queer arts collective Aerach Aiteach Gaelach.

Her poetry has been published in PIR, Aneas and Comhar, and in anthologies including Bone and Marrow, Queering the Green and Impressions Irlandaise.
