Join art historian Jessica Fahy for this informal talk and discussion about The Guinness Portrait by Walter Frederick Osborne.
Painted when Osborne was at the height of his powers as a portrait artist, the picture is one of his finest works. The work is now the centrepiece of a new portraiture exhibition of Osborne's work on display in the Hugh Lane Room.
The talk will take place in the Education studio and will include tea/coffee biscuits and plenty of chat!
The Education Studio is on level 1 of the Gallery and is fully accessible by lift from the Clare Street Entrance. It is at the same level as the Merrion Square Entrance. Toilets, accessible toilets, baby changing, and a Changing Places facility are located near the Studio and the Education Team are on-hand to support.
This event is part of our Tuesday Talk and Tea series, an informal discussion about an aspect of the Gallery’s collection or an exhibition. It involves a short illustrated talk followed by a discussion with the audience over a cup of tea (or coffee, of course!).
