THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT

The acclaimed Irish contemporary dance choreographer Liz Roche leaves the comfort of a traditional theatre setting to present a new work in the newly refurbished National Gallery of Ireland as part of a major programme of events to mark its re-opening. In the exquisite surrounds of the Shaw Room, an extraordinary group of dancers and musicians will come together to respond anew to this historic gallery space. Inspired by the shared symbols surrounding tribes and societies, Totems strips Roche’s subtle and poetic choreography back to its purest essence. Combining intricate movement patterns with live music, the result is a thrillingly evocative experience that echoes our accepted wisdoms, collective histories and deepest instincts.
