Audioguides

Free audioguides of selected highlights of the collection are available to use during your visit. They are in English, Irish, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Polish. We also have a special children's audioguide (English only).

Research facilities

The Gallery welcomes researchers, and has a vast research collection, located in a number of different areas around the Gallery - the Art Library, the ESB Centre for the Study of Irish Art, the Prints and Drawings Study Room, the Yeats Archive, the Sir Denis Mahon Library.

Gallery Shop

The gallery shop has prints and postcards of your favourite paintings, bookmarks and the books to put them in as well as all the pens, pencils and pads for new found artistic expression.

Gallery Café

Domini and Peaches Kemp are the culinary sisters behind The Gallery Cafe, a bright, spacious dining area that is ideal for lunch or a quick cup of coffee and a treat.

Visiting with children

Sunday is our ‘Family Day’ where drop-in sessions, tours and activities all have a family focus, but any day of the week our drop-in creative space and free art packs and audio guides support independent creative activity!

Cloakrooms

You may deposit coats, small bags and umbrellas free of charge at the Gallery cloakroom, for the duration of your visit. We cannot accommodate larger items of luggage.

Toilets and baby changing facilities

Toilets and baby changing facilities are located in the Millennium Wing (Level 1) and in the Beit Wing (Basement Level).

Photography in the Gallery

We allow still and video photography for personal (non-commercial) use in the public galleries except in special exhibition areas or where specifically prohibited. Look out for the symbol beside some pictures indicating that they cannot be photographed.
