Free audioguides of selected highlights of the collection are available to use during your visit. They are in English, Irish, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Polish. We also have a special children's audioguide (English only).

There are free tours of the permanent collection at weekends (Saturday - 12.30pm, Sunday - 11.30pm | 12.30pm | 1.30pm. You can also arrange a private tour of the Gallery, or bring a school group for a visit by contacting [email protected]

The Gallery welcomes researchers, and has a vast research collection, located in a number of different areas around the Gallery - the Art Library, the ESB Centre for the Study of Irish Art, the Prints and Drawings Study Room, the Yeats Archive, the Sir Denis Mahon Library.
The Gallery Shop has prints and postcards of your favourite paintings, bookmarks and the books to put them in as well as all the pens, pencils and pads for new found artistic expression.

Sunday is our ‘Family Day’ where drop-in sessions, tours and activities all have a family focus, but any day of the week our drop-in creative space and free art packs and audio guides support independent creative activity!
You may deposit coats, small bags and umbrellas free of charge at the Gallery cloakroom for the duration of your visit. We cannot accommodate larger items of luggage.

Toilets and baby changing facilities are located in the Millennium Wing (Level 1) and in the Beit Wing (Basement Level).
We allow still and video photography for personal (non-commercial) use in the public galleries, except in special exhibition areas or where specifically prohibited. Look out for the symbol beside some pictures indicating that they cannot be photographed.
A lost and found facility is in operation in the Gallery. If you lose something during your visit, please report it to the information desks in the Millennium Wing or Merrion Square entrance.
