George Du Noyer was an artist, antiquarian, and geologist. From 1834 to 1845, he worked for the Irish Ordnance Survey. He travelled across the country and made thousands of watercolour drawings. His wide-ranging subject-matter included native plants, animals, fish, archaeological sites, landscapes, buildings, fossils, and rock formations.
