The
National Gallery of Ireland is a national institution and state funding
supports the core day to day operations, enabling free access to our
permanent collection for over 360 days of the year. However, the Gallery
relies on the generosity of our patrons and visitors to support the
following key areas
- Research
- Conservation
- Education
- Exhibitions
- Acquisitions
Individual
support
Individuals wishing to make a donation to the National Gallery
of Ireland can place a cash donation in one of the donation boxes
placed around the Gallery. Alternatively a cheque can be sent, made
payable to the National Gallery of Ireland to the Development Office,
Merrion Square West, Dublin 2, with contact details for verification
of receipt.
Donations of €250 upwards are eligible for full tax rebate.
For example, a payment of €250 from a higher rate PAYE payer
will allow the National Gallery of Ireland to claim an additional
€181 from the revenue commissioners.
An individual
resident in the UK may obtain tax relief for a donation made to
the British Fund for the National Gallery of Ireland. For more details
on this and for details on donations from other countries, including
the United States contact the Development Office.
Bequests
The National Gallery of Ireland welcomes bequests from individuals.
For further details on financial bequests and on bequests of paintings
to the Collection (not every work will be eligible).
Corporate
Support
The National Gallery of Ireland offers companies a variety of ways
to support the institution.
Companies
can receive a deduction in tax liability in respect of any donation
over €250 to the National Gallery of Ireland. A UK company
may obtain tax relief through donating to the British Fund for the
National Gallery of Ireland.
