Gary Tiernan

Gary Tiernan

Gar Tiernan is a 27 year old singer songwriter from Dublin. He is not defined by genre and writes as he puts it "Wherever the song wants to take me".
Which usually takes him from folk, pop, ballad, rhythm & blues all the way to acoustic hiphop without ever losing his authenticity, his distinctive voice and in-depth, clever and well-crafted writing ability. He has been described as organic and not like anyone else, and his slow ballads and acoustic hiphop stories have been hailed as lyrical genius by some of Ireland most accomplished artists. He has supported the likes of Damien Dempsey and Aslan and is currently spending most of his time recording his much anticipated debut album. https://m.soundcloud.com/garytiernan/new-dress

Performance time: 6pm

Damh

Damh

Damh is the current front, back and side project of Tiger and Panda collaborator Ox (David Burke to the census-taker). Launched in Dublin in 2013, after much idle chit-chat in Donegal, Galway, Bristol and London. Debut EP - the curiously-monickered Toby's Lament - is out now on Box Store Records. It is a loose concept piece about a melacholy boy racer. But really it's just choons innit. Full digital download available on https://damh.bandcamp.com
Damh plays Whelans this Monday night, the 22nd September.

Performance time: 6.30pm
