Sponsorship and support assists the Gallery in a number of ways. These include the acquisition of works for the National Collection, the restoration of masterpieces and the development of exhibitions. In addition it contributes to our public education programmes and supports vital research projects.
While the Gallery has a number of ways in which donations can be made which are detailed below, unrestricted gifts are extremely beneficial to the institution.
With an annual attendance of some 800,000 visitors the Gallery offers an attractive opportunity for corporate organisations to promote their interests while engaging with the wider community and supporting the critical operations of one of the nations most important cultural institutions. The range of initiatives available for corporate support vary from small to large including socially important outreach projects developed by the Education Department, internships in the Conservation studio developing the skills of young professionals, the development of IT and web-based programmes to realise the Gallery's potential in the information society and the support of major exhibitions which highlight achievements of Irish and European art.
