Celebrating 25 years of the Volunteering Programme

In 2015, the National Gallery of Ireland celebrated 25 years of its Volunteering Programme. We continue to invite applications from those who wish to volunteer.

Become a volunteer

The Gallery is progressing towards the reopening of the refurbished Dargan and Milltown Wings. We are inviting volunteers to join our current volunteer team in preparation for our reopening. As part of an enthusiastic volunteer team, you will work alongside professional colleagues, providing valuable support to the Gallery and promoting our vision of an outstanding visitor experience that inspires an interest in, and an appreciation of, art for all. In return we offer you a detailed insight into the Gallery’s collections; invitations to exhibition openings; and the opportunity to meet with like-minded art enthusiasts.

Volunteer Ambassador - Young Volunteer Programme

The Gallery also invites applications from young people with an interest in the Arts sector to join our programme for the summer (June to August). 16-18 year olds can apply now for these placements, subject to consent of Parents/Guardians. Full details of the role are outlined here.
