Define... Still-Life

  • Define 'still-life' in your own words.
  • What elements/features make this a 'still-life' scene?
  • Compose a set of rules or guidelines for executing an 'Impressionist still-life'.

Create your own... Impressionist Still-Life!

Compose a still-life scene using at least one organic and one inorganic object, with contrasting forms, textures, and patterns. Create a number of preparatory studies for the composition, closely examining different aspects of each object, before completing a full still-life inspired by the painting techniques of Pissarro.
