Artists' Biographies

Michelle Boyle studied at the Slade School of Art, St Ives School of Painting, and NCAD. She works in oils and watercolours, and drawing is an important part of her practice. Her work included self-portraits and portrait commissions exhibited in Ireland and the UK. She lives and works in Co. Cavan.

Alan Daly studied fine art painting at the Dublin Institute of Technology. He has exhibited in solo and group show and his work is in OPW and Fingal County Council Collections. His current work concentrates on large figurative drawings. The artist lives and teaches in Dublin.

Grainne Dowling studied at NCAD and in Germany. A printmaker and painter, member of the Water Colour Society of Ireland and Black Church Print Studio, she has a particular interest in drawing, her current work responding to the West of Ireland landscape. The artist lives and teaches in Dublin.

James Hanley RHA is a graduate of UCD and NCAD. The recipient of numerous awards, he has shown extensively in Ireland and overseas, and his work is in national, private, and corporate collections in Ireland and abroad. He is a member of Aosdána. He had completed many portrait commissions and undertaken work for An Post, OPW and other major bodies. The artist lives and works in Dublin.

John Keating studies at the Crawford College of Art, TCD, Loughborough University, and the Arts Student League of New York. He has exhibited nationally and internationally. His work is in many private and public collections. Based in Dublin, the artist also works and exhibits in Italy.

Mary Kelly is a graduate of UCD, IADT Dun Laoghaire, and NCAD. She has exhibited in many solo and group shows, both in Ireland and internationally. Her art has won several awards and bursaries, and she has an active teaching practice. The artist lives in Wicklow.

Fintan Mahon is a graduate of Limerick Institute of Technology with an MA from the Open University. He has exhibited in group shows at the Douglas Hyde Gallery and the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. The artist is based in Dublin and teaches at Ballyfermot College of Further Education.

Colin Martin is a graduate of DIT and NCAD. He has received numerous awards and bursaries for his work, and has exhibited in group and solo shows in Ireland and abroad. His work concentrates on film, photography and painting. He lives and works in Dublin.
